Terms and Conditions

An adequate area for the band to safely set up and perform (remember we have PA equipment and instruments in addition to performers).  A typical 4-piece band takes something like 2 meters deep by 4 meters wide, plus somewhere to locate the main loudspeakers.  A safe 13 amp socket is required.

Large dancing area - ceilidhs and barn dances require more space than a disco (at least 4 times an average disco floor),  to fully enjoy the evening as much space as possible.  Some examples of minimum requirements:

Square Set Dances
A square set dance ideally needs an area of 3.5 by 3.5 meters, [or 4.5 by 4.5 meters for certain dances]

Long Sets [6 couples]

A six couple long set needs an area of 2 by 4 meters [or 3 by 5 meters for certain dances], plus at one end of the longset, you need and extra 3.5m for the set to dance into. (However, if you had 2 or 3 sets in series, you would still only need one lot of 3.5m to dance into).

Circle Dances

Here the number of dancers is dictated by the space available.

Parking is required for at least 2 cars (for smaller band). Parking will be required near to the entry of the venue for loading.  If there are car parking fees at your venue - this is to be paid for by the client in addition to the fee quoted.

Agreed fee includes musicians (as requested) and caller, PA equipment and insurances.

All our equipment is PAT tested, we have PLI for £5million, our equipment is insured.  We have undertaken a Risk Assessment for Ceilidhs and Barn Dances and COVID 19.  All documentation can be seen on request.

Special requirements or requests will be considered (e.g., additional musicians; vocals, daytime performance; small venue; fundraisers etc) - please contact to discuss.

Once a fee is agreed there are no hidden extras. (However extra time can sometimes be requested on the evening - at an additional cost of £50 per 30 minutes extra performance, to be paid in cash on the evening).

To secure your requested date a 10% (non-refundable) deposit is required, and this is to be paid within 14 days of confirming your intention to book.

If your event is over 2 hours duration – the band will require some light refreshment (food and soft drink - thank you), during our break.

The band remain responsible for their equipment at any event, therefore only members of Still Reeling will operate the bands equipment and instruments.
